Radio Bumper: http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/creat-a-ds106-radio-bumper/
Now that we have a #ds106 radio up and running creating a 15 to 30 second bumper for the station. What is a bumper? It is a short recording that identifies the radio station with signature music or an expression that makes sure the listeners know what they are tuned into
I went very simple with this Radio Bumper so it was easier to create then mixing multiple audio clips together. I also created a small script with what to say and added notes on the way I should say it by hearing other radio bumpers. It was a bit time consuming but because I had some more practice with Audacity I knew what tools to use. I also enjoy adding effects to my voice. I wish I could distort my voice until I can’t recognize it anymore but oh well I have to deal with it. Anyways it was fun like last time but still cringy to hear my own voice over and over again.
HOW IT WORKS!
1.) I looked for audio in FreeSound.org and downloaded one audio clip
2.) I imported this to Audacity and added my voice as well
3.) I then cut down unnecessary silence and added effects such as ‘reverb’ and ‘compressor’
4.) Finally I lowered the volume of the background music and enhanced my voice a tad.
