A Short Propaganda VideoOn April 4, 2020 by admin
Smash up any combination of videos, still images, and audio to create a fake propaganda video. It can be comedic or (non-offensively, of course) serious, its up to you. Possibilities include: advertising a product, creating a villain, or selling a revolution.
So I didn’t really know how to start off this video, but I kinda wanted it to be frightening but realistic. So I added music that was a bit ‘haunting’ and played clips from news programs. I also didnt know the direction that it would go after playing the clips. Originally I decided to add a little joke here and there to lift the mood a bit after the music ended but as I replayed it, it did not seem to fit well and it wasn’t that great of a joke lol. So I went with my second option which was to stay serious the whole time. Now this is a propaganda video and I know not all of these videos are aggressive and scary but I wish my voice was lower and intimidating haha. I was going to add some effects but I dont think anyone would take me seriously. A lot of people say my voice is very soft and sadly that I have to agree. So I amplified my voice. I also considered the tone of my voice. This was a bit difficult as I feel awkward doing this so I sound very monotone. I really hoped to capture the different moods but I dont think I did that. Also, I don’t know if it’s my software or youtube, but my voice cuts off in weird places and is kinda static. I think it was when my computer froze while it was exporting (I don’t know if that can happen).
How It Works:
1.) I downloaded videos from youtube from different news channels
2.) I chose various images from google
3.) I then picked out the audio that I thought would fit the video
4.) I fit the clips together in OpenShot video editor and transitioned using those tv static sounds
5.) I then added the audio over these clips
6.) I added images of coronavirus and people with facemasks and again added new audio under those pictures
7.) I created a script and recorded my voice and imported it to the editing software
8.) I sliced and moved my audio to where I thought was appropriate
9.) I then exported and uploaded it to youtube and then here 🙂
